Gee, I wonder if he’s going to try to claim “fair use” like Dan suggested.
Looks like Youtube agreed that it wasn’t on.
That is Youtube’s default position. They have no choice for it to work properly. First, remove it immediately, and then allow the user to contest it later. I knew they would. Knowing him he will probably not contest it and force you to court. He will probably give you what God gave all of us, grace.
Anyone could get some hacker friends to set up thousands of bot youtube accounts and post it anyway and make you chase a rabbit. Who knows. Code name:Sye’s flood ;7) *wink
Only if they got a kitten playing the piano to play that audio in the the background. Then it would have gone viral. :7)
Not worth it. God glorified still. For that, we thank you.
Dan. We specifically told Sye not to use the recording on YouTube. He edited this part of our conversation out on the version he posted on his site. It is included in the version posted on our site — as is his verbal agreement to this stipulation.
YouTube isn’t going to take any chances. They’ll take a video down at the initial objection and wait for the courts to decide the issue before further action. That keeps them immune from lawsuits coming their way.
Just to clarify how the Youtube copyright thing works, Youtube will remove any video if someone claims it is copyrighted. As pvblivs says it keeps them immune from lawsuits, its basically a legal loophole that makes them not liable for any copyrighted infringing videos on their site as long as they remove immediately if someone makes claim, whether or not the video is actually infringing, and the process is often abused.
What is probably happening now, is that the guy who posted the video will dispute the copyright claim, in which case you will be notified they are disputing the claim and you will have to take them to court or the video will restored.
He will probably give you what God gave all of us, grace.
No, what he’ll give them (because he’s forced to) is the concession that he was dishonest.
Knowing him he will probably not contest it and force you to court. He will probably give you what God gave all of us, grace.
Dan, read carefully what Jim said:

It’s your friend Sye who needs the “grace”, not Alex. The fact that Sye edited out that part shows that at least he understood that what he said amounted to an agreement, otherwise, he’d not have taken it off.
Fuck, between you, Sye TenBruggencae, Hezekiah Ahaz and Rick Warden, I’m starting to think that you evangelicals truly don’t give a damn about honest at all, not when it suits your purposes to be dishonest.
Reynold, I’m not exaggerating when I tell you that I’ve never met a single honest advocate of presuppositional apologetics.
