an atheist viewpoint

thoughts from a non-theist

Can God do even the impossible?

 Consider some verses from that popular work of fiction, the Bible….

Genesis 18:14 Is any thing too hard for the LORD?

Job 42:1-2 Then Job answered the LORD, and said, I know that thou canst do every thing….

Jeremiah 32:17 Ah Lord God! … there is nothing too hard for thee.

Jeremiah 32:27 Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for the Lord?;

Matthew 19:26, Mark 10:27 With God all things are possible.

Luke 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.

I especially like this one –

Luke 18:27 The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.

It has clearly been shown that the apologists on some sites are unable to even imagine something like a square circle, and have dubbed such ‘illogical’ and ‘impossible’, yet here’s Luke claiming that even impossible things are easy for god to do! Apologists, in their usual, excuse making way, try to claim that the verses are ‘out of context’, or that all powerful, or impossible, means something else. Really, it makes one wonder if all apologists have done for the last two millennia is work out how to avoid acknowledging the truth!

Here’s the bottom line; the Bible clearly states that god is all powerful, and all knowing, and goes on to say that nothing is impossible for him. We know from even a basic understanding of logic that it is not possible to be these things simultaneously, therefore there is no reason whatsoever to believe in god.

Don’t let the apologists bullshit their way out of this!
